Scott started his career in the financial world with a large full-service firm. After realizing his clients’ needs were out growing his full-service firm, he discovered the independent broker-dealer space and formed his first wealth management firm with a close friend whom was also in the independent financial world. Their firm grew quickly and in 2007 acquired Baikie & Alcantara Investments, a small regional firm located in Santa Cruz CA that was established in 1935. A few years later, his partner left the industry to pursue an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. Scott was forced to find another trustworthy partner, which he did in Matthew Pulsipher. Their firm continued to grow and a few years later, they acquired City Financial Group in Vancouver WA. In 2015 City Fiduciary Group, A Wealth Management Company was formed by merging Baikie & Alcantara and City Financial Group with Scott, Matt and another successful and trusted financial advisor, Jeff Brooks. With the needs of the firm and clients growing quickly, Scott, Matt, and Jeff were led to KMS Financial Services to help meet those soaring needs.
Scott graduated from the University of Utah, as a member of the Honor Society, where he studied Economics. He is passionate about building a strong relationship of trust and respect with his clients, where he provides them with financial, retirement, and estate planning. His focus is on educating and training clients, empowering them to make wise decisions regarding their future. He teaches them about the difference between just investing their money and having their money work for them.
Scott’s philosophy for clients is they are our family. He has strong desires to be there in all areas of client planning. He contributes to CFG by providing clients with an environment built upon 4 pillars; transparency, open communication, accuracy, and education. His sole purpose is to provide the best and most accurate advice and education for clients. Scott believes if you have education and do not share it, it is worthless.
Scott currently lives in Washington with his wife Angela, and their three sons. In his spare time, he loves mountain biking, cycling, riding dirt bikes, playing with his kids, and just being with his wife.
